A brief history of tattoos and their uses

Tattoos can be dated back to between the fourth to fifth millennium BC, in the Alps. These first tattoos were thought to help in healing since they were found in places usually used for acupuncture, like the lower back, behind the knees and ankles. Some tattoos were also found in Egypt and dated back to the second millennium BC.

Further examples of early tattoos were found on many Pre-Christian groups including the Picts, a confederation of Celtic tribes living in what was later to become eastern and northern Scotland. The Picts were tattooed with dark blue designs.

Tattooing in Japan is thought to have started about ten thousand years ago. Evidence of Japanese tattoos can be found from viewing clay statues that have painted and engraved faces that represent tattoos. These figures can date back to before five thousand BC.

Western style tattoos can trace its lineage back to the tatau and Polynesians. European sailors popularized the tattoos of the Polynesians and spread it to the western world.

Tattoos have also been played the role of symbolizing religious, devotion, bravery, sexuality, marks of rank, fertility, rites of passage, love, punishment, protection, slavery, and much more. But today tattoos are generally serve a cosmetic role but can still be seen playing a role as a religious symbol or identifying mark with a particular group. Some tattoos and symbols are associated with gangs or other outlaw groups.

The use of tattoos has evolved as people and the art has. Most recently tattoos have started to move further from the outlaw groups and more towards mass markets. Tattoos have even started to be used as permanent makeup in eye-liner, eye shadows, lip coloration, and much more. Recently tattoos have been gaining notoriety for their ability to provide the wearer with a permanent method of letting people know of a specific ailment that may be affecting them at that time. Ailments may be blood types or diabetes. Some medical tattoos are being used for breast reconstruction purposes and to cover up skin blemishes.

A half sleeve tattoo is a tattoo that wraps around either the upper or lower half of the arm. Since the arm is the most popular place to get a tattoo, you do see a lot of these around. How do people design their tattoo?

First they decide where they want the tattoo placed. Do you want it on the upper where you’ll be able to hide part of it with a short sleeved shirt or on the lower arm where it’ll be relatively visible at almost all times?

Next, for half or sleeve designs in general, it’s good to work around a theme. By having a single theme, your tattoo will flow and fit together in ways that a tattoo without a theme would not.

The following step would be to find small pieces to include in your tattoo. By including small designs into your tattoo, you’ll further build flow and create a custom tattoo.

Finally, consult a professional tattoo artist. You may want to do this in the beginning to find an artist who creates designs that fit with your wanted tattoo and who will work with you to design a completely custom half sleeve tattoo design.

A tattoo can be a great piece of artwork or it can be a piece that misrepresents the wearer. It’s important to take the time to design and choose the right tattoo for yourself. You’d hate to end up with a piece you despise on your body. Please make sure to consult and to have your tattoo placed on your body by a professionally trained tattoo artist.

Probably the most common question, aside from “what do you think I should get” and “how bad will this hurt?” is “How much will this tattoo cost?” I know I wondered this my first time. Well the answer is that “it depends”.

The price is dependent on what type of tattoo you’re getting. The least expensive is going to be a small, simple design like a 1″ x 1″ square or other simple shape. The most expensive tattoos will be intricate full body tattoos, otherwise known as suits since they cover the body like a suit. Between those two extremes are half sleeves, full sleeves, full backs, etc.

All factors vary, including who will be doing the design and if they have to illustrate it for you or if it’s from a stencil. Some other factors that will determine the cost of the tattoo are; placement, design, colors, size, original or from flash, time to complete, and on what the market rate is and what the tattoo artist determines to be the going price for their service.

Ask people with tattoos and artists

You can ask them what they paid for this tattoo piece or that one and that will give you a round figure of the cost associated. Also ask people who have tattoos that you like, or are in the style you like, where or who did it. From their answer you’ll be able to find a competent and hopefully good artist to continue asking about pricing. Once you find a good tattoo artist, not the cheapest necessarily but will provide you with a good tattoo, start asking questions. Tattoo artists, much like any business person, are looking to gain your business and the more guidance they provide you the more you’ll trust them with your tattoo.

At the end of the day you want a good tattoo for your money, considering they are pretty permanent. Through speaking with the artist and acquaintances, hopefully you’ll become more comfortable with them and this will make the price and the decision to get tattooed by them that much easier.

Please note that tattoo prices will vary between artists and their portfolio should help you decide on who to have tattoo you.

Good luck with all of your tattoos.

Classic memory: Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck

Mickey Mouse turns 80 years old today, and there’s not a gray hair on him. Sure, he’s a little rounder, a little squatter, and he’s been wearing the same clothes for decades, but all in all he looks pretty good. Sure, Mickey hasn’t had a movie in two years (his last one went direct-to-video), but his cheerful face remains one of the most recognizable images in the world, even beating out Santa Claus.

Choosing The Right Tattoo Ink As An Artist

Choosing The Right Tattoo Ink As An Artist

<!– @page { margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } A:link { so-language: zxx } –>

As the practice of tattooing developed and more and more colors were introduced, the old days of artists mixing in the back rooms of their shops have ended. The time commitment, safety risks, and know-how have become too much for individual artists to handle this task.

Too many artists have made the mistake of trying to make their own tattoo ink only to find out that they weren’t suited for the task. A tattoo artist should focus on mastering their craft and expanding their skills using tattoo ink for things like outlining, color shading, black and gray shading, and developing their overall tattoo style and building their clientele of customers.

This isn’t to say that tattoo artists shouldn’t be familiar with the fundamental concepts of tattoo ink color and how to mix colors. Mixing colors is much different than making your own ink from scratch. You can purchase pre-mixed colors from tattoo ink manufacturers like INTENZE products who offer products like Snow White Mixing. This is a white tattoo ink color that artists can use to mix and lighten other tattoo inks they purchase. This allows artists to create their own custom shades, which will provide custom tattoos for their clients without having to worry about making their own tattoo ink.

Tattoo artists need to understand the concept of the color wheel in relation to their tattoo ink. Using contrast is one of the best ways artists can make their tattoo ink colors POP in the skin. Contrast is the use of complementary colors that are opposite each other on a color wheel. When you use tattoo ink colors like orange and blue, which are complimentary on the tattoo ink color wheel, you’ll be creating tattoos where the color contrast is unmistakable.

When you apply your time and effort as a tattoo artist to mastering your craft and understanding the fundamentals of color and using the correct tattoo inks for different style tattoos you will improve your skills and profit drastically. This combined with building the right network of clients will bring your experience and earnings to the next level. Make a small investment in a large color set of tattoo ink and you’ll be on your way to the status of master tattoo artist.

You can get a wide range of tattoo inks at ‘Tattoosuperstore.com’. They also provide best tattoo Ink reviews from other tattoo artists and tattoo ink sets at discount prices when you buy tattoo ink in bulk. You can choose your best tattoo ink from their reliable tattoo ink section and easily find all the colors you need when you shop by tattoo ink color. Vist here http://tattoosuperstore.com

D*ck Moves: Guy Asks For Yin-Yang Tattoo On Back, Gets Penis Tattoo Instead.
I realize how this looks. First a cock-ring post, now a penis back tattoo post. Don’t delve too deeply into my psychology, folks. I don’t care about Charlie Sheen. I care about d*ckheads in Australia who tattoo giant d*cks …
