A tattoo is something very personal. You shouldn’t get done a piece somebody else already has. Instead, work with the tattoo artist in creating something you’ll love and won’t later regret having.
You just contradicted yourself…
You said that you know a lot of people have them and then you say that you want something different and unique.
It doesn’t make sense.
I’m going to have to agree with Pickles on this one… Tribal tattoos are pretty common; as you yourself said, lots of people have them. And any picture I could find you of a tribal tattoo will obviously not be unique on account of already being someone else’s tattoo! And I don’t know what you’ll like and what you won’t; choosing a tattoo is a very personal thing.
That’s not to say you ‘shouldn’t’ get a tribal tattoo – what you choose is entirely up to you, and they can look very striking. I’m just not sure how to help you on this. I’d suggest you do a Google image search for ‘tribal tattoo’ and see what you find that you like. You’ll probably get a much clearer idea of what you want, and if you then take the images along to your tattoo artist as examples of things you like, you can work with them to come up with something unique.
